And now, time for Rustyboy taper freakout #1:
Ann is recovering from a bout with some strange flu-like thing that's left her sleeping 12 hours/day. It hit her last weekend, got incrementally worse with congestion, although she's rebounding now, but is still exhausted.
I've been fatigued lo these last few days. No other symptoms, but I've now convinced myself that I have it, only milder. In fact, if I were supposed to run the 100 Monday morning, I seriously doubt that I could. I sleep 8 1/2 - 10 hours a night and wake up tired.
This now ends freakout #1.
Look for more to come!

I thought tapers made you tired in general. But maybe you should sleep on the couch for a week just to be sure.
Yuk, sounds like Black Plague. Ann has to stop traveling under-developed countries (please insert reference to a sketchy LA location here because I don't know enough about LA to do that myself.)
Methinks you may just be tired from the taper, as NWG said.
Keep sleeping and see if you can buy some of that anti-viral stuff on the blackmarket. Also, have you been taking Emergen-C? It's dumb, but it's amazing. One of my co-workers came up to me 5 days before my race coughing and snotting all over the place and I immediately could feel getting sick.
Two doses of the Emergen-C and I was golden. (It has a nice placebo effect.)
You're storing up on sleep, like you did on weekends and school vacations as an adolescent. Your body knows what it's doing.
Thanks for the words, ladies.
I know logically that I'm not catching anything. It's been nearly 2 weeks nearly since Ann's symptoms started. So now I just have to deal with the general fatigue of my body repairing itself from 6 hard months of training.
The anxiety is amazing! I'd quite forgotten the weird thoughts that enter my brain while I taper.
Stupid glycogen buildup.
try this one:
"Everyone is a robot but me!"
Eva, now, we all know that's just a truth, not paranoia.
Only up to freakout #1? I'd be on #6 by now.
Didn't you know everyone registered with the CDC will somehow make it to within ten feet of you during the taper?
You know to take care of yourself, but just be really deliberate about it for the next few days, OK? And didn't Emergen-C rap on a tune by T-Pain? Questions, questions...
